León
León

The city of León was born as a Roman military camp of the Legio VI Victrix in 29 BC.

As a result of being a small fort of the army of Rome, the place became small shops and homes to create a small villa.

Centuries later, during the high Middle Age, León became a renowned city throughout the Iberian Peninsula creating the kingdom of León and favoured a great architectural advance.

Today, León preserves its entire historical, monumental and cultural heritage, in addition to being an obligatory place of passage of the Camino de Santiago.

We encourage you to discover all its monuments, streets and emblematic places.
